Secure mobility in the age of connected vehicles

How can connected cars be operated safely throughout their entire service life of up to 25 years, when cyber threats, software, and regulatory requirements are constantly evolving? TÜV SÜD contributes its expertise from the homologation requirements according to UNECE R155 and R156 and is looking for innovative solutions for long-term cybersecurity, software updates, and risk management in the vehicle fleet together with partners. With the increasing connectivity of vehicles, new challenges arise regarding cybersecurity, software updates, and long-term risk management. While vehicles often remain in operation for 15 to 25 years, current cybersecurity concepts and software support periods are usually designed for significantly shorter periods. Innovative solutions are sought for the long-term security of vehicles, the assessment of cyber risks in the vehicle fleet, and sustainable concepts for software and security updates over the entire life cycle. In particular, questions regarding the feasibility of regulatory requirements, end-of-life support, and the future operational and traffic safety of connected vehicles are the focus. TÜV SÜD contributes comprehensive expertise from the homologation and conformity assessment of vehicles according to UNECE R155 (Cyber Security Management System) and UNECE R156 (Software Update Management System). The goal is to develop practical solution approaches for the long-term cybersecurity of connected cars together with industry, the insurance sector, technology providers, and research institutions.

easyMission – AI-powered public relations for fire departments and volunteers

Fire departments perform a significant portion of their work on a voluntary basis. In addition to operations, training, and organization, professional press and public relations work is becoming increasingly important: for transparency, recruitment of new members, member retention, and public acceptance. At the same time, many fire departments lack the time, personnel, and digital tools to quickly, legally compliant, and media-appropriate prepare operational reports for websites, the press, and social media. easyMission addresses exactly this point. From structured operational information, understandable, consistent, and releasable content for various communication channels is generated within minutes. This significantly reduces manual effort, avoids duplicate data entry, and particularly relieves volunteer press officers. The goal is a scalable software solution that supports fire departments and, in the future, other civil protection organizations in modern public relations. As a flagship project from the region, easyMission combines practical firefighting experience, digital process automation, and AI-supported text generation in close cooperation with the Emsbüren fire department. Cooperation partners are sought for pilot projects, technical validation, further technical development, scaling, sales partnerships, and potential investments.

Rollout- in Hannover & surroundings

In recent years, deLiCat has not only built a functioning catering system but also a scalable operating model. The next growth phase is consistently focused on three pillars: digital infrastructure, operational excellence, and structured market expansion. The company's own Kitchen Information System (KISS) already digitally maps recipe management, nutrient calculation, and production control. In the next expansion stage, KISS will be extended to include a complete ERP module: real-time order quantities per facility, automated supplier ordering, digital HACCP documentation, and a parent frontend for meal registration and feedback. In parallel, billing – currently via the PCA system – will be migrated to a multi-client, scalable platform that can also integrate large customers and tender partners. The goal is fully paperless operations by the end of 2027. Process Optimization The modular Cook & Hold system – based on 10 basic manufactory ingredients and 650+ recipes – is already structured in such a way that new facilities can be integrated into existing production runs without loss of quality. The central kitchen (currently ~1,000 meals daily) can be scaled up to 3,500 meals. Ongoing measures include: standardized employee onboarding processes, digital work instructions and HACCP plans, and a deficit analysis system for continuous quality assurance at the team level. The intended EU approval of the production kitchen creates the regulatory basis for supra-regional supply. Rollout deLiCat pursues a controlled, tender-driven growth path. The current pipeline includes 21 municipalities in the greater Hanover area. Ongoing award procedures (including the city of Lehrte) are systematically served with standardized tender documents, supply concepts, and reference certificates. The rollout of new locations follows a defined onboarding process: needs analysis → logistics planning → test operation → regular operation within 6–8 weeks. Existing cooperations with regional food partners (Bode Naturkost, Chef's Culinar, Eierhof Carsten Popp) secure supply chains even with capacity expansion. With the right strategic partner, deLiCat can achieve this rollout from today's 7 facilities to 25+ locations – without compromising on quality, transparency, or proximity to children.

MethA-Pur - Innovative biomethane processing

MethA-Pur is a modular technology for upgrading raw biogas to biomethane of natural gas grid quality. This innovation closes a key gap in the German biomethane market: While around 9,600 biogas plants generate electricity on-site, only 290 of them produce biomethane – established upgrading processes such as pressurized water scrubbing, amine scrubbing, or pressure swing adsorption (PSA) are technically and economically designed for large-scale plants and are simply unprofitable for small and medium-sized facilities. The core innovation of MethA-Pur lies in the combination of three components: a pressureless, low-energy processing system based on a patented proprietary process, a modularly scalable, containerized design, and deep system integration into the existing biogas plant. This makes biomethane production economically viable for the first time in the SME market – unlocking a previously untapped climate protection potential in rural areas. Regional waste materials are used to produce a storable, grid-compatible green gas that directly replaces fossil natural gas and can be marketed via the natural gas network, in the heating market, or as bio-CNG/bio-LNG for climate-friendly mobility. Against the backdrop of the EU biomethane strategy (fivefold increase in biomethane production by 2030), MethA-Pur is a scalable key technology for the energy and heat transition – with particular potential for rural areas, regional energy self-sufficiency, and CO₂ reduction in Germany and Europe.
