They can treat diseases, increase mobility, and make everyday life easier, for instance, with dialysis.

At the same time, there is still a significant need for development in implant research. Depending on the type of implant and its location, complications can occur that cause long hospital stays, considerable personal suffering, or, in severe cases, even death. As more implants are expected to be used in the future due to medical progress, demographic change, and increasing demand, the number of such complications is also likely to rise.

To limit this trend, new and sustainable solutions for the prevention, early detection, and treatment of implant-related complications are urgently needed. This is important not only from a medical and ethical perspective but also to reduce the burden on healthcare systems.

This is exactly where DGIFE comes in!

Koordinierungs- und Kommunikationsstelle (KKS)The Coordination and Communication Center (KKS) is a joint federal and state institution dedicated to modernizing IT architecture and data management in consumer health protection and veterinary medicine. The central element of this project is the central IT architecture for consumer health protection (ZITA gV). It incorporates user-friendly IT applications and data/information management systems to ensure the future viability of task fulfillment, increase the efficiency of official activities at all relevant levels, and improve information provision through the timely availability of valid data. Within this federal IT cooperation, the KKS is responsible for preparing, implementing, and further developing the ZITA gV. It works closely with organizations and bodies at the municipal, state, and federal levels and manages public and private IT service providers. The KKS and the ZITA gV are based on an administrative agreement between the 16 federal states and the federal government, which entered into force in November 2022. The strategic management of ZITA gV is carried out by the State Working Group on Consumer Protection and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Community. A steering committee has been established for operational management. The KKS is located in Lower Saxony at the Service Center for Rural Development and Agricultural Support.
