MIP Technology GmbHMIP Technology offers a magnetic identification marker. This is characterized by its robustness against chemicals and temperatures. In other words, where RFID and optical codes are not suitable due to environmental influences, the magnetic ID can be used. Our goal is to significantly increase traceability in production with the automated recording of production equipment (e.g. injection molds, vulcanization molds, carrier systems for oven processes).

Customer Problem
Digitalization in production. Mapping of production processes and real-time feedback data to the MES system.
In thermal processes above 150°C and in harsh environments (chemical influences), existing identification technologies reach their limits. That is, RFID transponders fail due to thermal stress. Optically readable codes such as DMC codes become illegible.Business Model
We focus on providing the magnetic information platform. This means we provide our customers with magnetic ID tags, magnetic scanners and the software to read the magnetic ID.
Adaptations to customer needs are part of our service. The magnetic ID tags can be built from different materials. Technology Description
The serial numbers of production equipment are written customer-specifically as magnetic codes on the ID tags.
The ID tags can be constructed purely metallically from V2A steel. These tags have a thermal resistance of up to 350 °C. The magnetic data is mechanically protected by a 0.2 mm stainless steel cover layer. Optical engravings can also be applied to the cover layer, so the magnetic ID can also be used as an invisible backup ID, or checksum of the optical ID in plagiarism protection.Market Description

Lower Saxony Innovation PrizeThe state of Lower Saxony is seeking outstanding projects that actively shape and strengthen the region's position as a center of innovation – apply now for the Lower Saxony Innovation Award. The award recognizes companies that have (further) developed a technology that has the potential to drive and shape the long-term transformation of Lower Saxony's economic and innovation system. This award recognizes innovations that can, or are already, paving the way for further technological innovations in Lower Saxony. Consortia that have successfully combined their efforts to translate business insights into practical applications in an exemplary manner will also be recognized. This year, the Lower Saxony Innovation Award is once again under the patronage of Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Construction and Digitalization, and Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture.
