HDW AkademieThe HDW Academy – House of Knowledge is a non-profit continuing education initiative based in Hanover. The HDW Academy aims to offer practical, high-quality, and socially relevant continuing education programs – with a particular focus on end-of-life, hospice, and palliative care, culturally and religiously sensitive nursing, as well as psychosocial and social education. A unique feature of the HDW Academy is its combination of expertise, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, especially with regard to Muslim patients, their families, and communities. The continuing education programs are designed for nurses, volunteers, medical personnel, and interested individuals and are primarily offered online (e-learning), supplemented by targeted in-person formats. The HDW Academy's guiding principle is "Knowledge that moves." – education should not only inform but also strengthen attitudes, practical skills, and compassion. The long-term goal is to develop an innovative, digital educational platform that contributes to improving the quality of care, destigmatizing death and dying, and strengthening social professions.
