Promoting the export of green and sustainable (environmental) infrastructure (Environmental Protection Export Initiative)

Funding is available for individual and collaborative projects in the following project types: feasibility studies, pilot and model projects abroad, capacity building projects, and investment measures and related experimental research. Eligible costs include personnel costs, instrumentation and equipment costs, building and land costs, contract research costs, knowledge costs, and patents acquired directly or through license from third parties in compliance with the arm's-length principle, as well as costs for consulting and equivalent services used exclusively for the project, additional overheads, and other operating costs.

A minimum contribution of 20 percent is considered appropriate. For industrial research, up to 50 percent, for experimental development, up to 25 percent, and if the conditions of Article 25, Paragraph 6 of the GBER are met, a maximum of 80 percent of the eligible costs. For feasibility studies, funding amounts to up to 50 percent, and if the conditions of Article 25, Paragraph 7 of the GBER are met, a maximum of 70 percent of the eligible costs. For funding based on the De Minimis Regulation, the maximum limit of currently €300,000 specified in this regulation must be strictly adhered to.

Knowledge transfer and application of green and sustainable environmental technologies and infrastructures abroad

Undertakings in difficulty, undertakings or sectors in the cases referred to in Article 1(2), (3) and (5) of the GBER, activities related to exports to third countries or Member States, in particular aid directly related to the quantities exported, the establishment or operation of a distribution network or other running costs related to export activities

Commercial enterprises, legal entities under private law (e.g. clubs, associations and foundations), universities and non-university research institutions that have a permanent establishment, branch or other facility in Germany at the time of payment.
