Funding opportunity for future projects in the energy sector
Northwest Metropolitan Region calls for submission of innovative project ideas for energy transformation. Shaping the future of the Northwest together: The Northwest Metropolitan Region is calling on actors from the region to participate in a new application round of the funding fund of the states of Bremen and Lower Saxony. The funding fund, endowed with 520,000 euros annually, aims to initiate pioneering ideas and regional cooperation projects to support the innovative strength of the Northwest and actively drive the energy transition. Project applications can be submitted until October 15, 2026. Projects that address key issues of energy transformation in the Northwest and provide answers to current challenges in the region are sought. Projects that focus on cross-state cooperation between Bremen and Lower Saxony are particularly eligible for funding; for example, pilot or R&D projects with high transfer potential for the region. Funding includes, among other things, work aids, feasibility studies, concepts, pilot applications (R&D), expert opinions, formats for regional profiling and knowledge transfer, consulting services, or model projects. Applicants can submit project ideas on various topics, including heat transition, sector coupling and energy neighborhoods, implementation of the Northwest Metropolitan Region's hydrogen strategy, skilled workers for the energy transition, areas for the energy transition, as well as energy efficiency and other regional needs of the energy transformation. The office of the Metropolitan Region offers early consultation appointments for all those interested in submitting an application.
