In 2027, Braunschweig is entirely under the sign of Carl Friedrich Gauß: On the occasion of his 250th birthday, the IHK Braunschweig is awarding the Gauß Prize once more alongside their established technology transfer prize.

Both awards honor successful and as novel as possible transfer projects from research and development institutions into economic application. The Gauß Prize focuses on transfer projects with a comprehensible reference to Carl Friedrich Gauß, his scientific work, or the questions arising from it. It is awarded nationwide. To apply for the technology transfer prize, a cooperation partner must have its seat in the chamber district of the IHK Braunschweig.

For both prizes, the following applies:

• A successfully completed transfer project between a research and development institution and a company can be submitted.

• Persons or groups of persons who submitted the project and implemented the technology transfer can apply.

• The project must transfer research and development results into an economic application in a comprehensible manner.

• A transfer project can only be submitted for one of the two prizes.

• The application phase runs from 15. September 2026 to 31. January 2027.
