Description

The FabLab (Fabrication Lab) at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences provides a working environment where projects can be implemented. From prototype construction to the realization of more complex projects, such as building a solar power system in collaboration with a school in Gambia, we work together to bring ideas to life. In addition to typical hand tools like wrenches and cordless screwdrivers, the FabLab is also equipped with modern manufacturing technology. Small devices such as soldering stations and 3D printers can be operated here. Besides project implementation, the FabLab conducts regular workshops where participants learn how to use CAD software, 3D printers, soldering stations, laser material processing, and welding equipment. Through numerous internal and external projects, the FabLab has become a popular resource for project-based work and projects of all kinds. How can you use the FabLab? We support you in the development and implementation of prototypes and test systems in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, additive manufacturing, woodworking, and much more. Together with a student team, we will implement your project idea. Available machines/tools: • 3D printing: Two Prusa i3 MK3S+ printers and one Ultimaker S2 Extended • Laser: CO2 laser (working area approx. 1m x 0.75m) • Soldering: Two professional soldering stations • Milling: Stepcraft M1000 CNC gantry milling machine • Various other tools and consumables. Knowledge transfer (workshops): • Soldering for beginners • CAD with Fusion 360° • Arduino for beginners • Excel basics • Excel Visual Basic • 3D printing crash course • Operating a CO2 laser.
