Universitätsmedizin Göttingen (UMG)The University Medical Center Göttingen combines the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital under one roof. The UMG, together with the University of Göttingen, has been a foundation university since 2003. As the only maximum care provider in southern Lower Saxony, the UMG focuses on three research and clinical areas: neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases, and oncology. These three areas reflect the most common diseases in the population and thus the medical need. The UMG focuses on translational research at the interface between basic research and clinical practice. Other cross-disciplinary topics include molecular biosciences and medical data science.
