Innovations in medical technology often take too long to progress from the initial idea to widespread use in patients. Many good ideas never even get that far because developing a medical device is so costly that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular shy away from the risks. Due to the complex regulatory environment, the perspective of future users (especially physicians and clinical staff) is often only considered very late in the medical device development process. As a result, innovative ideas may still be immature in their application or, despite technical excellence, not yet optimally usable. Early involvement of physicians and clinical staff can strengthen innovation, prevent failed innovations, and lead to better market orientation. In this way, KIZMO GmbH makes a significant contribution to making the medical technology development process more efficient.
