The 2025 annual network meeting, taking place on December 15th, marks the traditional year-end of the state initiative. The event has established itself as a central networking platform for the aerospace sector in Lower Saxony, bringing together decision-makers, innovators, and key stakeholders from business, science, politics, and administration. This year, the networking event will focus on Smart Manufacturing and will be held at the Varel Technology Center.



In the morning, participants will gain insights into two production sites through parallel factory tours. At Broetje-Automation GmbH in Rastede, the focus will be on the construction of state-of-the-art riveting and assembly systems, as well as current developments in robotics and processes for the factory of the future. At the same time, Airbus Aerostructures GmbH in Varel will open its factory gates and showcase cutting-edge processes in metalworking, assembly, and 3D printing.



The program begins at 1:00 p.m. at the Varel Technology Center with refreshments, networking, and a tour of the accompanying exhibition. The technical program then focuses on smart digital technologies, such as AI-supported visual inspection, digital twins, ALM (Additive Layer Manufacturing), and adaptive manufacturing systems. Best practices from companies like Airbus, Arconic, Boeing, Siemens, SWMS, and Sightwise will illustrate how manufacturing processes are evolving into intelligent, networked systems. This will be followed by a panel discussion where representatives from industry and politics will discuss strategies for creating secure, efficient, and resilient supply chains that can ensure stable production despite global risks. The annual network meeting traditionally concludes with a dinner, providing an opportunity to reflect on the past year, share insights gained, and gather new inspiration for the future.
