Description
Virtual reality – what exactly is it? It means that users are transported directly into a virtual space. Here, they can move around and even interact with a wide variety of objects. The actual reality is completely hidden. With the concept of augmented reality, reality isn't hidden. Instead, a virtual layer is superimposed on reality. For example, a Monopoly board can appear on a cleared table, visible only through AR glasses. Artificial intelligence (AI) is essential here, as it's what enables programs to recognize surfaces. AI is based on models, algorithms, and complex calculations, which are (fortunately) handled by computers. This allows for pattern recognition, processing of large datasets, and execution of actions. But back to VR: In addition to dedicated VR and AR glasses, smartphones can also be used as "windows" to augmented or virtual reality. For specific, high-quality applications, more computing power is usually required in the form of a wired connection to a powerful computer. However, solutions already exist that allow users to experience VR and, above all, AR via a web browser. A great way to immerse oneself in virtual reality together is a VR Corner Cave. Here, the user stands in a space with two walls. 3D projectors mounted on the ceiling project an image onto the surface. Thanks to shutter glasses and sensors, also mounted on the ceiling, the user sees a three-dimensional image displayed on the surface. The VR lab covers a wide range of topics, just like our services for you: • Training in VR, AR, and AI • Prototype development • Application of VR, AR, and AI in various areas (maintenance, service, assistance processes) • Introduction to Digital Factory/Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things Areas of Expertise: 1.
