Data-driven transport planning: Meeting real mobility needs in rural areas with flexible on-demand transport services

On-demand public transport services, or services integrated with public transport, can make local public transport more attractive, efficient, and future-proof. This is especially true in rural areas. In this webinar , we will show you how to create, expand, and improve such services . We will also discuss the role of a reliable data foundation in service optimization , how commercially available software solutions can support this process , and how this can lead to savings across the entire system .

This is illustrated using two municipal case studies: The Lütti project from the Osnabrück district shows how to successfully implement on-demand transport . The Sprinti project in the Hanover region, on the other hand, demonstrates how an existing service can be expanded and optimized to further improve mobility for local residents.

The start of a new series

This webinar marks the launch of "Data Moves Municipalities"—a new digital event series from Niedersachsen.next that showcases municipal best practices in the field of mobility and makes them available to other municipalities. Instead of setting up their own pilot projects, the webinars will present proven solutions in a concise, two-stage format, allowing participants to explore their potential for adaptation to new projects or optimization of existing ones.

• Stage 1 – Webinar: Low-threshold and digital, focusing on best-practice projects from the perspective of the participating municipality and the technology partner.

• Stage 2 – Deep Dive (optional): Evaluation of potential adaptations of the project or optimization of existing projects in this area, focusing on the individual requirements of the participating municipalities. Depending on the topic, an overview of suitable funding programs will also be provided.
